Short Break Route Suggestions
Relaxed route
Worcester and return – 15miles, 32 locks 12.5 hours total
Simply cruise to the lovely city of Worcester and return along the same route, makes for a great weekend break or a more leisurely mid-week break. Worcester is home to Worcester Porcelain, a 500 year old Tuder House, the City Art Gallery, and of course Worcester Cathedral.
Intermediate route
The Droitwich Ring – 20 miles, 33 locks 14 hours total
Best suited to a mid-week break. (or active weekend) Leave Dunhampstead Wharf and head up the Worcester & Birmingham canal to Hanbury Junction and the Hanbury flight of locks, reaching Droitwich on the first evening. Continue west on the Droitwich canal and the Droitwich Barge canal towards Hawford Junction and down the River Severn. Come off the Severn at Worcester and back up the Worcester & Birmingham canal to Dunhampstead Wharf. This route includes
